If you are thinking about moving to Sarasota, Florida, I am sure you want to know – Where are the best places to live in Sarasota? Just like its residents, from families -to young professionals -to retired boomers, Sarasota neighborhoods are diverse and distinctive.

Trying to decide which one is best for you? With 100’s to choose from, in this video, I break it down from North, Central, and South Sarasota and give you an idea of the most popular, most requested, and best places to live in Sarasota. Here’s are a few of the favorites:

Palm Aire

Why is Palm Aire one of the best places to live in Sarasota? Palm Aire is located off of University Park and is ideal for everyone’s budget. Similarly, you can find homes for all lifestyles. From condos and villas to single-family homes Palm Aire will have something for you. Homes in Palm Aire are priced similarly to homes in the neighborhood of The Meadows. Two-bedroom condos begin in the low 200,000, villas start in the 300,000’s, and single-family homes are between 400,000-600,000.

Additionally, Palm Aire features two 18-hole golf courses, tennis courts, community pools throughout many of the neighborhoods, walking paths, a community park, and bike paths. Undoubtedly, this neighborhood is ideal for those wanting to keep active without having to jump in a car to go elsewhere. However, if you do want to jump in the car you are only 5 minutes to shopping at University Town Center. Similarly, you can grab dinner or cocktails minutes from home or jump on 1-75 and head to St. Pete to take in a major league ball game. Palm Aire is a Sarasota address that just happens to be in Manatee County, so your taxes are slightly less expensive as well.

Looking for an all-around great neighborhood without a huge price tag – look into Palm Aire.

The Meadows

The Meadows is conveniently located right off of I-75, close to downtown Sarasota, and minutes from University Town Center Mall. Within the 1650 acres of open space, residents are free to enjoy 14 miles of walking and bike trails, over 85 lakes and waterways, and an abundance of canopied oaks trees. This neighborhood provides, engaging events and activities, a variety of amenities to reflect various, diverse interests. Ultimately, fostering the greatest sense of community and a lifestyle like no other! This makes The Meadows one of the best places to live in Sarasota.

Downtown

If you are looking for the conveniences and vibe of city living then Downtown Sarasota could be a good fit for you. Similarly, if your lifestyle requires plenty of shopping, dining, arts events, and street fairs, and farmers’ markets you will be satisfied in Downtown Sarasota. Moreover, high-rise condominiums complement this lifestyle and are perfect for young professionals and empty-nesters alike. Currently, new construction dominates the downtown area. However, t’s a bit pricey: Home values average $735,000.

South Gate

What makes Southgate the best place to live in Sarasota? Southgate is one of Sarasota’s most sought-after neighborhoods. It features updated and well-maintained, 1950s ranch-style homes. Additionally, it offers top-rated public and private schools. Amenities include a plethora of upscale cultural and urban activities and events, with easy access to Downtown Sarasota. Residents have various upscale shopping and boutique options- including the neighboring Southgate-Westfield Mall. And above all, quick access to the crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico – including the awards winning, #1 beach in America, Siesta Key.

West of Trail

This neighborhood is in a prime location and is a unique blend of history & luxury. Here you will find some of the best real estate in Sarasota in the most popular neighborhoods. Often, my clients requests to see homes in Cherokee Park, Laurel Park, Desota Park, and the gated community of The Landings. Homes in this neighborhood range in price 1M-5M+.

Gulf Gate

GulfGate is centrally located which makes it a highly sought-after Sarasota neighborhood. Additionally, its close proximity to the world-class, Gulf Coast beaches and local shopping and is a huge draw for new home buyers. Conveniently located only minutes away from Stickney Point Bridge that connects Siesta Key to the Sarasota mainland. Definitely place this neighborhood at the top of your list if you desire to have a home in a desirable neighborhood, with easy accessibility to the beach at a reasonable price.

Palmer Ranch

Palmer Ranch is a 10,000-acre, community centrally located in Sarasota County, Florida. It is bound by Clark Rd to the north, Hwy 41 to the west, by I75 to the east, and SR 681 to the south. This neighborhood is extremely popular due to its impressive master planning and convenient location. Particularly because it has easy access to i75 and is only a 10-minute drive to the world-class, Gulf Coast beaches and downtown Sarasota. The homes in this neighborhood were constructed in the mid-1990s up until the present day. Furthermore, homebuyers are offered a wide variety of lifestyles choices.
